Wave breaking limit in arbitrary mass ratio warm plasmas

The maximum sustainable amplitude, so-called wave breaking limit, of a nonlinear plasma in arbitrary mass ratio warm plasmas is obtained the non-relativistic regime. Using method Sagdeev potential, general formula derived by taking into account dynamics both species having finite temperature. It found that amplitude decreases monotonically with increase temperature β − $$ {\beta}_{-} negative (temperature + {\beta}_{+} positive species) and increases (decreases) μ = m / \mu ={m}_{-}/{m}_{+} provided > cr {\beta}_{-}>{\beta}_{cr} < \left({\beta}_{-}<{\beta}_{cr}\right) , where 1 2 {\beta}_{cr}={\left[1-\left(1-{\beta}_{+}^{1/2}\right)/\sqrt{\mu}\right]}^2 .
